The Buzz

Butch Haltman says the CD 141.8 Buzby (left) and the Buzby prototype (right) are his favorite insulators. Buzby insulators are exceedingly rare themselves; but there is only one prototype. Did it accompany the patent application, which was granted on May 6, 1890? While that's not known, the prototype is obviously a forerunner to the final product. This was one of a number of "no tie" insulators patented at the end of the 19th Century.
